A free astrology chart forecasting the best time to have surgery

     No matter what type of surgery you are having, you want to have it at the best possible time, for a successful operation and a fast recovery period.

     Research has shown that excessive bleeding is more likely to occur if surgery is performed within one week before or after the full moon.  Therefore, we have only listed the signs that occur in the 1st and 4th quarters for each month. You should also avoid all strong aspects to Mars, negative or positive.  To avoid any Mars influence, we have noted only the favorable times for surgery.  These two rules apply to all surgeries.

     The next consideration is what part of the body is in need of surgery.  Astrology assigns rulership over each part of the body to a particular sign.  See Chart A below.  Avoid surgery when the moon is in the same sign governing the body part in question. Logic would dictate that if the moon is in Cancer and you are scheduling breast surgery, a part of the body ruled by Cancer, it would be a good time to schedule the work. Logic does not always apply. Wait until the moon has moved into a sign past the sign that controls the body part in question. Likewise, avoid surgery when the moon is in either the patient's birth sign or ascendant sign.

     The ascendant, or rising sign, is the sign that was on the eastern horizon at your exact time of birth. You may not know where your ascendant is and this site cannot replace the need to have a professional astrologer prepare a natal birth chart if you want to know for sure where your ascendant lies. However, because the signs move counter-clockwise around a chart in a precise order, there is a way to approximate your rising sign by using the time of your birth and your sun sign. See Chart B below.

      Find the body part in question and follow our instructions about choosing the best time for the surgery. All United States continental time zones are listed so you can choose the proper time zone for where you live.  If you do not use Daylight Savings Time in your area, please subtract one hour from the times listed after March 11, 2007.
